Make it visual using Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality has been around for a while now. The technology is still developing and offers fantastic opportunities across many creative fields including design and marketing. As a team we love to explore the possibilities of Augmented Reality with our clients with links to digital interactions and interactive packaging.

Augmented reality is the process of superimposing digitally rendered images into real-world surroundings, giving a sense of an illusion or virtual reality. Recent developments have made technology accessible using a smartphone.

AR is hidden content, most commonly hidden behind marker images that can be included in printed and film media. The marker is displayed for an application to identify and analyse it. A device can then play the linked content.

Marker images and Scan-able Data Glyphs can be printed using digital print technology. Digital print can enable the printing of millions of unique AR markers if required as digital print can print using variable data as the technology does not use printing plates.

AR is being used by advertisers. It is proving particularly popular to create 3D renders of products, such as cars or trainers, allowing a consumer to view a 360 degree image of a product. High quality AR can enable a more interactive level of experience such as a consumer being able to ‘wear’ a product as viewed through their phone.
