Smartflow + Digital Print Case Study: Pepsico
Walkers Crisps is a very well-known brand in the UK with global links to Lays Crisps. Pepsico supply Walkers Crisps to the majority of retailers throughout the UK.
A project to build brand love was launched by Pepsico, that used social media to select 2,500 competition winners. Each winner won 5 packets of Walkers Crisps that had been printed with their own name and a personalised message. A number of consumers used their crisp packets to propose marriage.
The Sharp Iris team used Smartflow to process every artwork, adding the various messages automatically. There was no need to produce manual artwork, repro or printing plates as the packs were all digitally printed.
The printed packs were supplied on a laminated reel which enabled Pepsico to pack the crisps using their standard Walkers Crisp packing line.
